I’m a Database Journalist at FiveThirtyEight. I collect, analyze, and write about data mostly pertaining to US politics.

I am also an Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy and formerly a Democracy and Technology Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School where I teach a course that I developed, Programming and Data for Policymakers, that is designed to equip policy students with the skills needed to navigate nuanced issues at the intersection of technology and governance through a combination of hands-on programming workshops and policy discussions.

My research interests include using computational analysis of language to better understand political environments and innovative new interfaces for automated reporting of news.
